FIRST POST NEWSLETTER MAY 2011
The season is now well under way and although there have been a few hiccups at the beginning we hope you all have an enjoyable season and good weather to go with it. One of the main grumbles has been the late arrival of the Handbooks. This was mostly due to Lutterworth dropping out of the League at such short notice. The fixtures had to be re-arranged which put everything late. Anyway the books should be available from today and hopefully you will all get yours shortly. In case anyone hasn’t got them and needs a contact number please ring or email me.
Each team will receive a new ball this year as the accounts are healthier than last season. If you haven’t yet received one please contact Audrey
Also any team requiring new equipment or extra balls should contact her.
Remember that when you register extra players you need to contact Jan to get the registration number/s but have to take payments to Rosemary Clegg.
These payments can be put through her door along with details of which team and how many players.
Match result score sheets have to be sent to Linzi Selby
These have to reach her by Saturday noon following the week in which the match took place. It is the winning Captains responsibility to make sure that they are received.
Some of the incidents that have come to the Committees notice are as follows:- that some players are undermining the Umpires decisions. Please remember that only the Captain should question the Umpire and that it should be done in a sportsmanship manner.
Please note that any fielder playing on 1st post should refrain from keeping their foot on the base. This is dangerous practice and if Umpiring you should request that this does not take place.
Also “Honesty pays”! We know that there are odd occasions when an Umpire doesn’t see exactly what happens. Although this is no excuse, some umpires are not always confident when an unusual incident takes place and not everyone is infallible. Therefore it would make it easier for everyone if players were honest in these situations.
Good Luck to all & enjoy!!!!!

Newsletter April 2011
FIRST POST NEWSLETTER APRIL 2011
The Rounders season is almost upon us and I trust that you have all been out there practising!! As you might be aware the Handbook may not be printed in time for the beginning of the matches, but by now you should have received fixture lists from Louise. If you haven’t please get in touch with her.
The Closed Tournament took place on Sunday 17th April and even though there weren’t many teams entered, as everyone who was there knows, it was a great success. The Committee would like to thank all those players who took part and also to everyone who helped on the day. Also thanks for the raffle donations. The weather was glorious and everyone enjoyed themselves. Congratulations to Arthingworth taking the glory!!!
Don’t forget “The Mixed” – This year it will be held at Husbands Bosworth on Sunday 14th August. So put it in your diaries and let’s hope that too will be a success!
Please note that this year each team will receive a new ball as the accounts are a bit healthier now due to the increase in registration fees. If any team requires extra balls or any equipment please contact Audrey.
If you have any more queries please don’t hesitate to make your enquiries to myself or Jan.
Let’s make this year a good one!!! Please respect the “Umpires” and your good sportsmanship conduct will be appreciated by everyone.
If you have any announcements to make or anything you would like included in this Newsletter please forward the information to me. We also have a “rounders” page on facebook.
Good Luck & hopefully Good weather.
