Any Other Business
Jan stated that if games haven’t started on time that all Umpires must put on the Score Sheet the reason for the game starting late. There is no penalty for not doing this but it information that the Committee require to help them improve the running of the League.
It was suggested that when arranging the Pre-season meeting that it is taken into consideration when half term is and to remember that Northamptonshire and Leics have different weeks for their holiday.
It was mentioned that last year, teams were asked not to pick Wed as their home night when in fact it didn’t seem to be a problem. Jan agreed that we didn’t seem to have any problems and that the fixtures went well but would look at it again at Committee meetings prior to the start of the season.
Wendy Hayward said that she was concerned about “The Blog” page as lots of her personal information had been given out. It was agreed by everyone that this could indeed be very risky and The Committee will talk to Jacq Farrow concerning this.
It was suggested that all Captains have access to e-mail nos from other teams. It was pointed out by Louise Wiltshire that in fact a lot of teams have their e-mail nos in the handbook. We will ask again this year that all teams provide an e-mail no that they can be contacted on. Jan pointed out that if anyone changes their e-mail no or their address they are to contact The Secretary (Min Curtis) of this so that she can let everyone know. Also as usual any complaints or questions must go to her.
It was requested that a list of Trophy winners be put into next year’s handbook. Jan said that this would be done.
It was agreed by everyone that this year’s Presentation night was very successful and attended well and that the Halloween Theme worked. Also the Disco proved to be very good. Jan said that she was disappointed that a few people pulled the decorations down as these were being left up for The Rugby Club who had a party the next night.
There was a long discussion on Tournaments. It was felt that a lot of players were disappointed that we didn’t have more and Carol B suggested that all teams pull together to attend and help out where necessary. The Committee said that they would provide the Tournaments but that we needed more commitment from teams. It was felt that not enough notification was given and it was agreed that the Committee would try to arrange Tournaments more in advance and put the dates in the handbook prior to the start of the season. Jan said that last year we were struggling to find venues and that we would try to improve things. The Committee will try to put a Tournament on in late April prior to the Season commencing and will charge £30.
There was a discussion about the lack of funds and it was suggested that maybe we look for sponsorship for the League. Everyone was made aware that Flo had managed to obtain a donation from this year’s Carnival proceeds and that we were looking at what other grants we might be eligible for.
Welford asked that we bring up a point raised by them concerning CRB checks. Jan said that we were waiting for information from the NRA regarding this.

NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2009
End of Season
Well the Rounders Season has now come to a close and I hope that you’ve all enjoyed it. It wasn’t without its problems but what’s new!! All in all I think it has been an enjoyable season and bringing in the “30 Balls” has certainly made a difference – The games seem to have been much closer. Anyway whether you liked it or not you must come to the AGM which will be held on 11th November and vote. Remember all registered players get a vote and each team must send a representative (although everyone is invited). If a team fails to send a representative their team will be fined £10. Any proposals or nominations must be sent into me by 31st Oct.
Presentation
I hope that you are all in the process of ordering your tickets from Jan for the forthcoming Presentation Night which is to be held at the Rugby Club on Friday 30th October. This year as you have already been made aware is to be based on a “Halloween Theme”. Fancy dress is optional and there will be a prize for the best costume. Let’s all make an effort this year to make it a success and stay until the end!!! Tickets are £5 each. If you or your team members have any trophies which need to be handed back please take them into Jan at The Nelson – The sooner the better. Let’s try to make it easier for Jan!!!

FIRST POST NEWSLETTER - JUNE 2009
Well the season is now well underway and I hope that everyone is enjoying their games and feeling fitter into the bargain.
RULES
Some teams believe that a game ends when a team has won.
Just to remind you all that a game consists of 2 full innings of 30 balls, and that the game will continue to the end of both innings regardless of when a team has won, unless the winning team captain decides to declare.
NO- BALLS
Umpires – Please note that you only mark off “Good Balls” from the 30 balls and not “all balls”. It is important that you know what signifies a “No-ball” e.g. Above the head, below the knee – and that a wide is wider than the normal reach of the batsman and that a body ball is one that hits or would hit a batsman. To get the correct clarification of this PLEASE READ THE RULE BOOK (page 27 section B).
EQUIPMENT
New aluminium bats can be purchased from Audrey Marlow at a cost of £30.
Rule Books can be purchased from Jan for a £1 discount. They normally cost £5 and there are a few left at £4.
GET WELL WISHES
On behalf of The Committee we would like to send our Get Well wishes to Pam Sutton, who has recently broken her leg. We wish her a speedy recovery!

Handbook amendments
Dear Captains / Secretary
Please note that the Handbook was not updated with the new Arthingworth Captain
It should read
Wendy Hayward
I have noticed that Shire Press did not typeset in the telephone number for the Treasurer.
Please add to your handbooks Rosemary Clegg's home number
Plus they typed in Jan Lally's correct email address on first page of Handbook but in the club directory they missed out the second 'l' in Jan's surname.
Linzi's address
Please amend these with immediate effect
Many thanks
Louise Wiltshire

Score Sheets
When Umpires are putting “Players player” names on the sheet please make sure that it goes on the side that their batting name appears. Score sheets for next season will include nos. of balls at the bottom of the sheet.
Pitches
A Discussion took place regarding the pitches at Northampton Rd. Jan explained that she had meetings with the Council and that although they had suggested some teams play at Little Bowden Rec The Committee had decided that we all stick together and continue to play at Northampton Rd. (United we Stand divided we fall). Members present agreed with this strategy. Jan explained that we are still in negotiation with the Council over this and that this years fixtures will be difficult to put together but that the Committee will do their best. It was brought up about the holes in some of the pitches and the disturbance that other sports users caused. Jan said that following the meeting with the Council they had said that they would cap the “goalpost holes” during the summer months.
New Teams
Linzi Selby asked if new teams could get sponsorship from the League. Jan replied that the Committee would always look it at, and that they would support them where necessary.
CLIC Tournament
A letter from Caroline & Eva was read out thanking the League for the donation to CLIC. Caroline said that next year they might introduce a “Mixed Tournament” or hold the event in April as a lead up to the season. It was explained to some of the members present what CLIC stood for and that as it is the only Charity event held that the teams should try harder to support this Tournament.
