NEWSLETTER JUNE 2008
SCORE SHEETS
Score sheets are to be completed prior to the match not on arrival at the game. This is causing games to start late.
Would captains please ensure that score sheets are completed correctly before handing these in.
If for any reason there is only one score sheet at the beginning of a match, the match must start and if absolutely necessary use a piece of paper for marking scores etc. One score sheet missing is not a reason to delay a match.
STARTING TIMES
Umpires are reminded that a game must start at 6 30 pm when each team has 6 players. Games are not to be held up due to teams awaiting a full compliment of players. Up to 15 players can be named on the score sheet. Players can join in at any time, so there is no reason why a game should be delayed if 6 players are available to start.
VOID BALLS
If a match is being played at the Leisure Centre close to the fenced off area there is a possibility that the ball may go under the fence. It is up to the captains of both teams to agree prior to the commencement of the match any area which may be designated void.
CUP MATCHES
Apparently a rule had been misinterpreted regarding the use of bowlers during a cup game. The rule in the handbook clearly states: In a Cup match, a minimum of TWO bowlers must be used per team, the match will consist of 30 good balls per innings each, each bowler can only bowl 30 good balls in the game (once a bowler has bowled in the 1st innings they cannot be used in the 2nd innings as a bowler).
CUP DRAW
The draw for the semi final of the Cup is as follows:
Green Arrows v MH Ladies Umpires Lyns/Wharf
Bowden Blacks v HB Ladies Umpires Welford/Nellies
