FIRST POST NEWSLETTER - JUNE 2009

Well the season is now well underway and I hope that everyone is enjoying their games and feeling fitter into the bargain.

RULES
Some teams believe that a game ends when a team has won.
Just to remind you all that a game consists of 2 full innings of 30 balls, and that the game will continue to the end of both innings regardless of when a team has won, unless the winning team captain decides to declare.

NO- BALLS

Umpires – Please note that you only mark off “Good Balls” from the 30 balls and not “all balls”. It is important that you know what signifies a “No-ball” e.g. Above the head, below the knee – and that a wide is wider than the normal reach of the batsman and that a body ball is one that hits or would hit a batsman. To get the correct clarification of this PLEASE READ THE RULE BOOK (page 27 section B).

EQUIPMENT

New aluminium bats can be purchased from Audrey Marlow at a cost of £30.
Rule Books can be purchased from Jan for a £1 discount. They normally cost £5 and there are a few left at £4.
